Your Privacy Choices

Every control you have over your data in BRAKR, and exactly where to find it. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy; this page is the short route to acting on it.

On this page

  1. We do not sell your data
  2. Delete your account
  3. Opt out of analytics and screen recording
  4. Turn off notifications
  5. Screen Time and blocking data
  6. Ask for a copy, or a correction
  7. If you are in the EU, UK, or California

We do not sell your data

BRAKR does not sell or share your personal information, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act or any comparable law. We have no advertising partners and no data brokers. There is no opt-out to offer here because there is nothing to opt out of.

Delete your account

In the app: Settings → Delete Account. This removes your account, your check-ins and urge logs, your written reason, your custom blocked websites, and your Community profile. It is immediate and permanent.

Cancel your subscription with Apple first. Deleting your BRAKR account does not stop billing — only Apple can do that.

Opt out of analytics and screen recording

BRAKR records masked playback of app screens to find where the app confuses people, and collects product analytics about which screens are opened. Recording is switched off entirely on the panic screen, the daily check-in, the “why I started” screen, every Community screen, and protection setup.

There is no in-app toggle for this today. If you would rather be excluded, email support@getbrakr.app from the address on your account and ask to opt out of analytics and session replay. We will exclude your account and confirm when it is done.

You can also turn off Share iPhone Analytics in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, which limits what crash information reaches developers generally.

Turn off notifications

In the app: Settings → Notifications, where each kind of reminder can be turned off on its own. To stop all of them, use iOS Settings → Notifications → BRAKR. Withdrawing permission there also stops us being able to reach your device at all.

Screen Time and blocking data

The apps you choose to block are stored only on your iPhone, as opaque Screen Time tokens that mean nothing off the device. We never receive them, so there is nothing for us to delete — removing BRAKR’s Screen Time permission in iOS Settings → Screen Time removes them from the device.

Websites you added yourself are stored with your account so protection follows you to a new phone. They are removed when you delete your account, and you can remove them individually in Settings → Protection.

Ask for a copy, or a correction

Email support@getbrakr.app from the address on your account and say what you want: a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of something specific. We will verify that the request comes from you — usually by replying to that address — and answer within 30 days.

We will not charge you for this, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

If you are in the EU, UK, or California

EU and UK. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability under the GDPR and UK GDPR. Our legal bases are performance of our contract with you (running your account and your record), legitimate interests (keeping the service working, safe, and moderated), and consent where you have given it (notifications). You can withdraw consent at any time, and you may complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

California. You have the rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing and of profiling for targeted advertising. We do none of those last three. You may use an authorised agent; we will ask for proof of their authority.

Full detail of what we hold and who processes it is in the Privacy Policy.

Protection for the next difficult moment.
